The School of Social Sciences is a newly constituted school emanating from the erstwhile School of Humanities and Social Sciences. Since the establishment of the University in 1997, the disciplines belonging to the language groups (Bengali, English and English Language Teaching) and social sciences (History, Political Science, Public Administrative, Sociology and Economics) were taught under the tutelage of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
